Ouch…Elliot…Ouch

Knee needs to get a life.

OTOH, wouldn’t we all love to have a memory like this?

THE DAY

It wasn’t a bad writing day at all, and ended with having a terrific chance to sit down, have coffee with a friend, hear what she had to say about the book.  Her responses were a) go for it/it’s exciting and b) forget about going chapter by chapter if you know the end.

She’s right.  I think.  We’ll see.

I’m a little behind my deadline but not by much. I figure, okay, give this until the end of the week, then put it aside and start writing the short story I need to get done; let this percolate and then look at it again.  Really, if I wrote this as if I were writing a synopsis for my agent instead of stitching in the last fifteen or so chapters, I’d be done already because I know the arcs.  So that’s what I’ll do–and hope for the best.

Otherwise, uneventful.  Knee giving me conniptions.  It would really be nice to be younger.

What I’m Watching:
Finished Season 3 of The Americans, and they totally hooked me.  I ponied up the cash for Season 4.  Stupid, maybe, but what the heck.  I want to know what happens next, and that’s the mark of good story-telling.

What I’m Reading:
A Dream in Polar Fog.

What I’m Listening to:
Finished Body Snatchers.  Damned fine book, actually, once you get past some of the dated aspects.  Very well constructed.
