And oh-so-true: This is a must-see video on The Truth of Book Signings. Having done a couple myself–and figuring I’ll endure more of the same soon at Shore Leave (since we all know that I’m a dead Trek writer)–I completely relate. Been there, done that, bought the tee-shirt at bookstores and conventions. I also worked an authors’ signing at the first Thrillerfest a couple years back–as a volunteer not an author–and saw similar stuff happen to unknown or first-time thriller writers. (In contrast, lines for Lee Child were out the door. ) Painful!
