THE DAY
What can I say? I didn’t exactly wake up terrifically rested because the weather alert system went off a couple times to report tornadoes in other parts of the state. Still, I felt a heck of a lot better today than I did at that same time yesterday.
So I did exactly what I knew had to be done: tore up EVERYTHING from yesterday and rewrote it all. Okay, maybe I kept a few sentences here and there, but not many.
The only sticking point today came when it was time to leave for a lecture on Huntsville history. I’d really planned on going, put it into my schedule and all. But I looked at where I was and how much was left to do and worried that I simply wouldn’t get it done if I left. It’s very hard for me to come back and start up again after a long break and especially in the late afternoon/early evening. I can do it, most often when the husband is away for the evening and I know I’ll have unbroken time, no dinner to worry about. Perhaps then, tomorrow, I can do so because the husband has an event–plus, I know I’ll be out of the house by around noon to swim and then go to an appointment.
At any rate, I decided against stopped. Just kept my butt screwed to the chair and kept working for another two hours. Got to where it was comfortable to stop. Gymned. Came back. Worked for about another hour, but I can feel myself flagging. So, time to wrap it up, get my head around taxes (bluh) and dinner.

What I’m Watching:
The rest of a Shades of Blue episode (I must say, I feel this thing beginning to grow on me, like a fungus) and then one and half episodes of Justified. (Yes, I gymed for quite a while today. Tacking on more time to try and battle the bulge.)

What I’m Reading:
Still plodding through Beside the Troubled Waters. Kind of slow-going now because I’m both interested in the history and experience but selectively so. Plus, I’m not getting a lot of reading done these past few days; just banging on the book.

What I’m Listening to:
I heard about ten seconds’ worth of Bernie Sanders last night before turning off the radio. I know what he has to say (and his voice is kind of irritating, tell the truth). I also don’t need to listen to either Sanders’s or Clinton’s talking points for the umpteen trillionth time.
What I would like is for Donald Trump to go away. The problem is that Marco Rubio would take his place. So, sometimes, I think . . . okay, Trump can stay but only if Clinton stands a chance of beating the guy.
Trump scares me. His rhetoric is inflammatory. He may not mean what he says, but there are a lot of dimwitted bigots and downright angry people who do. They’re the folks I’m afraid of. I’m even more worried about what will happen if he were President–because I can’t see a Republican senate (man, that party is broken beyond belief) having the gumption to thwart this guy.
Okay, enough soapbox. I dread this election.
