THE DAY
Not much going on. A slow start; spent the first part of the morning wondering if I shouldn’t just chuck this book and then the second half thinking that I can’t give up because I will only find myself here with another book. Then, too, I didn’t do myself any favors by getting into a long FB conversation with a friend about being here and how it’s just not working for me. The more I dwell on that, the more I’m convinced it’s true. That’s just self-defeating. So I really shouldn’t do FB in the morning in any intense way, I think–or maybe let myself get into such a spiral. You know, only dirty water should circle a drain.
Anyway, finally shook myself out of that and got cracking. I think it helped that the cat groomer came today, which forced me to stick with this longer than I might have otherwise.

What I’m Watching:
The Affair: on Episode 5; the back and forth is interesting, if maddening and I feel like this is both artificially drawn out and pretty accurate in terms of the push me-pull you of getting involved in that kind of relationship. So I’m still interested enough to continue.

Pet Sematary: couple of pages; I watched the Championship Game last night and so only had enough energy for about 10 minutes of reading. Still not wowed.

Episode 4 of Serial: I’m still, like . . .okay. Yes, this is horrific and horrible…but your point? Not seeing it here.
And now listening to the State of the Union address. This may be heresy to some, but I think that history is going to look on Obama very positively.
