THE DAY
Pretty short and pretty sweet, because I’ve been working all day on either the book or my covers design thing, and now it’s late and I’m beat.
SO–got up at my usual time (although the rain didn’t end last night; another thunderstorm woke me up at 3 a.m. and it’s now raining some MORE). Grabbed coffee and decided no mail, no Facebook, nothing first but the book.
Wrote for most of the day, from about 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. when the husband (who kept mum the whole time pretty much because he has his own work to do) said we had to get to the gym. In that time, I did a lot of writing but a lot of cutting, too–and, of course, as soon as I got up from the desk, I realized that a bit I’d just done will need to be cut out and saved for later. Oy.
Headed to the gym. Worked up a sweat for 90 minutes and tried working even harder because the gym was closed yesterday and it was storming so badly that we couldn’t really go outside. Just as we’re leaving, friends popped by on the sidewalk outside. Chatted for a bit and then into the car, home, back to work only this time on my covers thing. I got some/most of the way through that, but it’s now four hours into it and I’ve hit a speed bump. An element of the InDesign program isn’t working, and I can’t get it to cooperate. The teacher’s been very sweet, trying to help via Messenger, but she’s not by her computer right now. So I saved my work and we’ll revisit this again tomorrow afternoon. But I want to get this sucker done already. I KNOW what the cover should look like; I see it in my head. Now to make it work.

What I’m Watching:
Interstellar: never saw this in theaters and it’s not bad, although I can already see what’s coming. So…that might count as a negative. But I’ll probably see it through.

What I’m Reading:
Haven’t touched that anthology. That’s on the docket for tomorrow, too. Got to get that done. My own fault, letting it go this long. Good thing I won’t be making a cake tomorrow.

What I’m Listening to:
Put Let Me In aside for a moment to do Episode 3 of Serial. I’m beginning to understand why they decided to do a series on Bergdahl, and I do think that he suffered a lot. But does that suffering after the fact mitigate what he did that landed him there in the first place? In a way, that’s like committing a crime and then getting upset because, in prison, you’re surrounded by nasty people. So I don’t know. Anyway, got halfway through that.
Later. I got to do some fast sleeping.
