We’re not usually a two-cocktail-a-week couple, but the husband had a hankering. So I took a chance on a kind of out-there cocktail, The Jupiter. If you like gin and dry vermouth with a floral whisper, this is the drink for you. I certainly finished mine. (Recipe may be found in Ted Haigh’s Vintage Cocktails and Forgotten Spirits.)
Frankly, I think a laudable goal would be to make every cocktail in this book and in alphabetical order. The only bugaboo: now that I live in AL, getting the necessary ingredients is a real challenge.
I hope my liver’s up to it.
I always wondered what use Parfait Amour was.
Now I know!
Now you’ve inspired me to do a taste test comparison of this, Creme Yvette, and Creme de Violette. 🙂
